Senior woman recieving groceries

Emergency Grocery and Pharmacy Delivery

Molly’s Angels offers emergency grocery assistance to senior clients facing situations where they can’t go to the store or don’t qualify for immediate community help. We provide two orders of emergency groceries as needed. Additionally, we furnish a list of local food resources.

Our volunteers help with picking up and delivering prescriptions when there’s a genuine need. Payment for prescriptions must be arranged beforehand. While we can’t guarantee this service, we strive to assist our seniors to the best of our ability.

For senior clients of Molly’s Angels

  • Must be a request out of need, not convenience. For example, a medication type that cannot be delivered by the pharmacy

  • Must have a client card on file, volunteers cannot handle any monies

  • Require 24 hours or more notice (no same day requests)

Please Note: This program is not for recurring food and grocery needs, as there are available community resources and programs able to assist. For more information, please visit our Food and Nutrition page.

Mental Health Screenings

If interested, seniors in any of Molly’s Angels programs will receive the Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form3, and the UCLA Three-Item Loneliness Scale4 screening at least once annually. If the senior has an alarming response, immediate efforts are made to connect them to mental health care resources, and if scores are within range, they are reassessed every four weeks to see if there is an improvement in their score. This aims to address seniors who may experience a variety of mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and dementia. Like all our programs, these screenings are available in both English and Spanish.

Birthday Cards and Phone Calls

We are lucky to have volunteers of all ages, ranging from local Napa and Solano High School students to retired crafters who create handmade birthday cards, delivering the simple gift of a holiday greeting. Other volunteers offer a heartfelt phone call to say “Happy Birthday.” For an isolated senior, these gestures serve as powerful reminders of their significance and worth in our community. Each card and call carries with it a message of care and connection, illuminating the lives of those who may otherwise feel forgotten or overlooked. We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers who take the time to bestow a moment of kindness.
