We find this service for these individuals is lacking in Napa County. Many of these clients are Kaiser patients, and since we only have a clinic available in Napa, transportation for all specialized test and surgeries are done in Vallejo, Vacaville, Fairfield or Santa Rosa, Sacramento and San Francisco. Without the service we provide, they wouldn't have a way to get there.
Molly's Angels has 46 dedicated and compassionate volunteers who proudly donated 3,740 volunteeer hours this past fiscal year of 2015. We have provided 3,851 free one-way rides for Napa County Seniors for a total of 40,585 miles. These older adults are on fixed incomes, cannot afford a taxi, and are not physically able to use public transportation. Even though these numbers look unbelievable, there is still a huge need for additional volunteers to fulfill all the gaps. If this is something that appeals to you, please call our office at 707-224-8885 for more information.
We would like to thank the Give!Guide and the donations received from our supporters during the holidays. We would also like to thank George Altamura, Community Projects, Inc., The Gasser Foundation, and Area Agency on Aging for their continued support.
We have started a new program called The Telephone Reassurance Program. This is a program that is funded by Area Agency on Aging. It's a wellness check on our older adults just to see how they are doing and if there are any areas where they might need help or just want to hear a friendly voice. If you are 60 years and older and would like to be added to this call list, please call our office at 707-224-8885.
